Attorneys for the archdiocese and the plaintiffs are expected to announce the deal Monday, the day the first of more than 500 clergy abuse cases was scheduled for jury selection, according to two people with knowledge of the agreement. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because the settlement had not been made public. The archdiocese and its insurers will pay between $600 million and $650 million to about 500 plaintiffs _ an average of $1.2 million to $1.3 million per person. The settlement also calls for the release of confidential priest personnel files after review by a judge assigned to oversee the litigation, the sources said. The settlements would push the total amount paid out by the U.S. church since 1950 to more than $2 billion, with about a quarter of that coming from the Los Angeles archdiocese. The very Pope himself and the Popes before him knew exactly what was going on, and you allowed these priest crimials to stay in the Catholic Church... they certainly were not ex-comunicated for crimes againstr children. Please let it be clearly understood, that in the United States of America we have honored the separation of Chuch and State. Now Cardinal Roger Mahony has chosen to intrude his religious values, which are Catholic religious values on an American national issue, which is illegal immigration and the evil North American Union. He has chosen to disregard completely, American law in this persuit. Mahony is interfering in American politics. I am an American citizen, and he is trying to push his values and agenda on me. So he has moved from behind his church walls into my world, and I resent it. He is pushing to make 12-20 illegal immigrants legal. He wants to reward them for breaking American law. Just like he rewarded Catholic priest child raping paelophiles by protecting them and moving them from parish to parish. This is not a humanitarian issue as he claims, these people have boken the law, I guess he thinks protecting the child raping priests is a humanitain issue. He forgets that above all, God is justice. Now as in the case of the child raping priest, he is breaking the law and deserves no mercy. Giving 12-20 million illegal immigrants immediate citizenship benefits the Catholic Establishment in the Vatican in Rome by increasing their followers and their donations, but I consider this massive increase in population of poor and uneducated people who do not speak English flat out dangerous to me and my country. They only drag us down, use our social services, and add nothing except slave labor which hurts all Americans by dragging all wages down. I consider Cardinal Roger Mahony my enemy because he is backing the North American Union or the destruction of America. His robes, his authority and his position in the Catholic Chuch mean nothing to me. I look at Cardinal Mahony as someone who is trying to destroy my country. I therefore will meet him head on, and do everything in my power to stop him from achieving his selfish, greedy goals. I have the right to defend my homeland. The United States. The first instance was regarding Vietnam. This Senator, Edward Kennedy's father, Joseph Kennedy along with Cardinal Spellman backed the Catholic Ngo Dinh Diem for the leadership of Catholic South Vietnam. Diem had been exiled from Vietnam for 20 years and was living at the Catholic Mary Knoll College in New Jersey. He had been watched for some time, both by the Vatican and certain individuals in the U.S. When the moment for the choice came, the decision was taken, mostly by American Catholics, the best known of these being Cardinal Spellman, Joe Kennedy and his son the future President John F. Kennedy. Diem was installed as President (dictator) to further the Catholicization of South Vietnam. Now Sen. from Mass. Edward Kennedy is teaming up with Cardinal Roger Mahony to push for the forgiveness and pardon of the illegal immigrants who broke American law and reward them with American citizenship. Cardinal Mahony and Sen. Edward Kennedy are willing to disregard American law by rewarding criminals with American citizenship so that the Catholic Church can get an immediate 12 - 20 million new money giving members, also contributing to the power of the Catholic Chuch in American politics. This Catholic Kenndy family has chosen to represent the Catholic Chuch interfering in American politics and foreign affaires on behalf of a foreign country, The Vatican and its leader, Pope Benedict XIV. Therefore none of them can be considered loyal American citizens. Their actions have contributed and are contributing to the brteakdown of the American nation. There is a moral break down of America when those in authority choose to break/not enforce American law for selfish agendas.

By Ken Fox Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Cardinal Mahoney, you stepped across the line. I understand the Bible better than you. To take the name of Our Creator in vain means to use Gods name in an improper and irreverent manner. You have done this by telling people that it is alright to break American Law. You have done this by using fear and guilt to persuade your followers to follow your own and the Vatican's greedy and selfish purposes. Again, Shame on you Cardinal Mahoney. Ken Fox Commentary: The real problem is that the Catholic Church officially, as Vatican policy protected these Priest child rapists. When caught, the Vatican just assigned them new parishes so they could keep repeating their crimes. In other words, this was not just a case of individual priests raping children... they did it under the protection and therefore silent approval of the Pope himself. It is beyond me how the Catholic Church can continue to be respected as a moral institution. What is even more troubling is what does it say about Catholics who hae completely ignored the crimes of the Popes and their leaders. It only says that they must be unbelievably insecure. Now Cardinal Mahoney, who knew about these child rapists is getting involved in American politics. Is it any wonder that I am angry, and willing to fight against him. See, I love America and want it to survive. If Cardinal Mahoney had his way, America would not survive. Recent NSPCC statistics state that the number of reported cases of child sexual abuse rose by 90% last year. This is just the tip of an iceberg of human suffering and exploitation. For instance, one writer on the subject estimates that one in ten adults have been assaulted sexually as children and, according to US figures, the assailant is likely to commit 73 such offences before being caught, while the prospect of re-offending after release is 75%(1). Furthermore, of the assailants, 75% were known to their child victim, indicating the hollowness of the myth of the stranger as would-be molester, and casting doubt, serious doubt, on the ability of 'the family' to safeguard children. In 33% of these cases, other children in the family were also abused(2). Child sexual abuse is widespread, cutting right across any economic, social, political, religious or race boundaries. It is an issue which is being vehemently addressed right across the political spectrum and it is time that men struggling against both their own and society's sexism began to consider what it is, and what preventative action can be taken. The experience of being sexually assaulted as a child is described by one author like this: Then there was the pain. A breaking and entering when even the senses are torn apart. A victim relates the following state of non-being after a sexual attack by her step-father: It takes away all dignity from your body, and from your soul. It is the ultimate invasion of privacy. There is nothing left. Your whole body - and all your feelings too - have been displayed against your will(4). The immediate consequences for the victim are horrific - a complete violation of self has taken place. The child feels dirty and betrayed by a trusted adult. Feelings of humiliation and anger are often joined by conflict and guilt. The child may feel confused because she may have enjoyed the 'sex', against her will, and that since the abuse might have been repeated many times, and because she had no choice but to submit, the child might also feel that she colluded in what happened. This confusion, along with the threat of physical violence, leads to feelings of guilt, self-hatred and the likelihood that the victim won't tell anyone. Like Ward(4), I feel that terms like sexual abuse, molestation, harassment, incest are really fudging the rape reality. Apart from the obvious physical damage done, the emotional, sexual and psychological scars last a lifetime.
